For all World of Warcraft fanatics: We are sure you already know the transition of Curseforge (arguably the most popular add-on repository for World of Warcraft) from Twitch to Overwolf.

Although we are not here to comment on the move itself or Overwolf’s reputation (ahem!), we just want to introduce you Wow, The latest World of Warcraft update tool.

What does it have to do with WowUp?

In short, it is a new tool that allows you to manage all WoW add-ons from all popular resources (such as Curse, WowInterface, TukUI, and even GitHub) clients.

It includes support for all World of Warcraft clients and allows you to manually include or select any folder you want. It also includes support for retail, classic, PTR and even Beta.

Basic GUI demo and installation details

The application is very simple. However, to use it, you must ensure that a World of Warcraft client is installed. PS You also need to make sure that your Battle.net application is up to date to ensure safety.

There are three main, self-explanatory GUI sections: My Plugins, Get Plugins, and Options. At this point, it’s clear that the app provides a very reliable way to manage your favorite add-ons and easily discover new add-ons that might appeal to you.

Your existing add-ons will be displayed in the first section, and you can filter them by name. You can manually update a single add-on, select multiple add-ons at once (hold Shift and click them), or you can update all add-ons by pressing a button.

You can get new add-ons from the Get Addons section, and even install them from the URL (manually). Please note that not all GitHub repositories can use this import process, but it is well worth a try.

Options section

The application strives to provide you with as many configuration options as possible. In the “Options” section, you can control all your “World of Warcraft” client and various application settings.

For example, if you want to run an automatic process to detect the installed WoW client, you can press Rescan. You can also choose the path, the default add-on channel, and even set the application to automatically install new add-ons.

Regarding the application itself, you can enable system notifications, enable hardware acceleration (if available), start the application at system startup, and minimize the startup application.

WoWUp seems to be a very promising product, which should attract most WoW enthusiasts. At the time of writing, the application only supports Windows, but please note that macOS and Linux versions are expected to be available soon.

It is worth noting that this is still a new project, so you should expect various changes and improvements in the coming period. These changes include the option to create a feature list, the option to scan for installed add-ons, the automatic update of scanned add-ons, the option to ignore add-ons, and improved search.
