Spaces are a great way to multitask on macOS, but they are not without problems. One of them is that you cannot enable Dock auto-hide on a specific space, you can only enable it on all spaces. Therefore, if you need the Dock to complete a task but not others, you are out of luck.

Hide my dock Is a very simple open source application, it provides a solution. It allows you to hide the Dock in any of your spaces without affecting all other spaces. It is very simple to use, it only displays in the menu bar.

How it works

To hide the Dock in a space, you first need to switch to it.Then, click on the HideMyDock icon and hide the Dock from there, or just use ⌘H shortcut. The next time you switch to this space, the Dock should be hidden automatically.

The app seems to remember the Dock settings for each space and enable/disable macOS auto-hide when you switch between them. Currently, it does not consider the user to manually enable or disable auto-hide, but it should be in a future version.

Simple, lightweight and open source

Although HideMyDock is obviously a very simple application, it can be useful if you have a special desktop layout for each space, which is very important for certain workflows.

The application is written in native code, so you don’t have to worry about running out of resources when it runs in the background, and its package is very small. It is also open source, so if you have any ideas, you can view the code or contribute to its development.

Hide the dock in a specific space

If you like to use space, and the Dock sometimes gets in the way, please continue to try this app. It adds more customization than is usually possible in macOS, and it doesn’t cost a cent.
