At some point, macOS may be at its peak efficiency and not require any third-party apps to simplify the user’s workflow. Sadly, we’re not quite there yet.There is still a lot of room for improvement palette As a good example of what can be done better.

This small application adds a feature that VS Code and Sublime Text users may already be familiar with – the Command Palette. This Spotlight-like search window allows you to find and activate any function from the highlighted application’s main menu, with full support for the original application’s hotkeys.

Easier access to any app’s features

After granting Paletro the required permissions, press ⇧⌘P Bring up the search bar. If you don’t like this shortcut, you can always change it from the app’s preferences.

You can now search for any feature in the highlighted application’s main menu, then simply press Enter to activate it. Even submenus can be accessed. Keyboard shortcuts for each function will appear on the right, and you can use this key combination directly from Paletro.

Customize almost everything

The app looks right at home on your Mac desktop, but if the default theme isn’t your style, you still have plenty to choose from. Additionally, you can specify how many results to display at one time, and you can move the search window anywhere on your desktop.

But what if you want to use Paletro with an application while excluding some unnecessary menus or submenus? Thank goodness you have this option. You can blacklist certain menus in one or all applications from appearing in search results.

The perfect addition to your Mac toolset

After a while, Paletro starts to feel like a true macOS component, which is a testament to how well thought out the app is. Although it’s not free, I think it’s worth the money, especially considering it’s in keeping with the subscription model, which is more popular than ever.
