SongKong Can help organize your music collection by updating metadata information for each song and removing duplicate entries. The application is built in Java and can be used to manage large music databases.
Easy-to-use and accessible options
The app has an intuitive interface that provides quick access to all options, enabling you to continue updating song information immediately. Unfortunately, only one folder can be monitored, which means you have to move all your songs into one directory.
Fast metadata updates and name patterns
SongKong is able to update a song’s metadata by downloading information from online databases (i.e. MusicBrainz, Discogs, and Cover Art Archives), which can be resized and saved locally.
You can use it to update song genres, automatically translate artist names to English, modify track titles, assign songs to original release dates found online, or add release types (EP, Single, Compilation, Mix, Live) to the title . Unmatched files can be moved to another location in an attempt to exclude them from your collection.
Based on the downloaded metadata, the application can easily rename the file. Alternatively, you can select one of the available renaming modes for the track or mix.
In addition to repairing songs on the spot, SongKong can also be instructed to continuously monitor the music folder, which means that any new files you put in it will be processed automatically. An HTML report will be generated containing statistics about SongKong’s findings.
Quickly remove duplicates
SongKong can also be used to compare tracks and remove or move detected duplicates. You can choose the comparison criteria, whether it be audio format, bit rate, file name, track length or MusicBrainz ID.
Easily reorganize your audio collection
SongKong is a solid alternative to other tag managers because it synchronizes metadata information with an online database. It’s very easy to use and integrates with iTunes to send all modifications to its library.
