Xcode is a great add-on for anyone looking for a reliable tool to create apps for Mac OS as well as iOS for iPhone and iPad. Xcode was first released in 2003, but the app has definitely come a long way since then, providing developers with powerful development platforms. The design and functionality of this application is definitely worthy of attention. As the years passed, they even included testing, debugging, and coding tools in one window. The debugging feature deserves a special mention as it has improved a lot in recent years. The Xcode IDE can easily analyze a user-created project and even identify errors or issues that may be due to incorrect logic or syntax. Xcode IDE is known to fix cases in some cases which will definitely help the user to go a long way in their development projects.

The core of the application is the interface builder. All user projects are developed only at this main facility. There is a Helper that shows exactly what part of the code is being edited, it could be a controller, a header, or even a superclass. Then there is the Version Editor which shows the live source code. These source code comparisons are done via subversion history or through Git. After the code is written, you can use the current tasks display to find errors in the code. There are some bugs that can be fixed with Fix-It, a kind of auto-correction feature for bad codes. The debugging engine used in the application is LLDB, which is used in conjunction with Apple’s LLVM compiler. The latest versions fully support Objective-C, C, and C++ for writing code. OpenGL ES is also included along with the new System Trace feature.

Previously, Xcode only worked on Lion, but there are several new SDKs available for iOS 7, OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, and OS X 10.9 Mavericks. This helps developers gain more control and create more compatible applications. However, if someone wanted to submit an app to the iOS or Mac App Store, they had to become a member of the iOS Developer Program or the Mac Developer Program.
