texture packer is a lightweight yet powerful sprite sheet generation tool with an intuitive user interface and command line utilities that allow you to easily batch images and create projects.
Helps you create sprite sheets and work with source images
With the app, you can easily create high-resolution images and scale existing ones to publish sprites compatible with multiple devices.
Additionally, TexturePacker allows you to add complete asset folders and automatically process their contents and sort your sprites into folders based on your folder structure. You can also choose to group animations and associate sprites and have Flash animations appear as folders.
Automatically organize your projects and improve your workflow
While preserving the folder structure, TexturePacker also uses the subfolder name as part of the final sprite name. On top of that, it automatically tracks changes in the assets folder and rebuilds the sprite sheet if necessary.
Thanks to TexturePacker, when your sprites cannot be packed into a single texture, you can spread sprites across multiple sheets and create multiple image and data files.
Additionally, it supports multiple file formats, allowing you to import PSD, SWF, PNG, TGA, JPG, BMP, and TIFF images, and enables you to export your creations as PNG, PVR, JPG, BMP, TGA, TIFF, PKM, WebP, and PPM files.
What’s more, TexturePacke helps you reduce render times and texture sizes by trimming the sprite’s borders to remove transparent pixels.
Built-in command line support for easy integration into your development workflow
As mentioned above, the app provides a command line utility that you can use to update all your sprite sheets at once.
After installing the command line tools, you can edit the TPS via the GUI or command line and have TexturePacker update the sprite sheet during compilation.
In short, this utility was designed from the ground up to create sprite sheets faster, and that’s exactly what it does.
On top of that, TexturePacker also comes with a comprehensive set of features that can also be easily integrated into your development workflow with its built-in command line support.
