ICQ (“I Feel Comfortable”) is now a once-popular instant messaging program that instantly informs you when other people are online. You can send messages, chat, play games, share documents, and more. This program was originally developed by Bill Atkinson, who also created the shareware email program Popular Courier. Since ICQ was first released, it has become increasingly popular among individuals, small businesses, schools, colleges, universities, and even medical institutions. When I first used it in 2021, I searched every new messaging program because it gave me so many features.

Now ICQ is an application (called “Information Desktop”) that many users have downloaded to their computers to free up memory and improve performance. ICQ also gives you the opportunity to play online games. One of my favorite features of ICQ is that you can connect to many other ICQ clients at the same time by screen sharing. Some people find this feature very useful for multitasking as they don’t have to focus on one program at a time! The ICQ protocol allows you to do online things like playing games and checking email while someone else is chatting. It’s an easy way to get your work done faster and more accurately.

So, if you are looking for a way to communicate with other people but don’t want to use your mobile phone or Blackberry, ICQ is the right alternative. If you don’t have an internet connection, just log in to your ICQ account, select “My Computer” from the main menu, click “Network” and then click “TCP/IP”. If your IP address has changed, you will need to reconnect. Now, in addition to being able to exchange messages, you also have the ability to view and update your contact list.
