jasper is an issue reader designed to work with your GitHub account and offers you the possibility to read all posts related to your project.

Jasper Utilities monitors everything from issues mentioning your team, or various repositories you’re looking at and allows you to browse through everything in an efficient manner.

Connect to your GitHub account to read issues and pull requests

In order to access GitHub posts in the Jasper UI, you need to provide a personal access token. To create one, navigate to the “Settings” area of ​​your GitHub account, select the “Personal Access Tokens” tab, and simply press the “Generate New Token” button.

Note that these tokens can be revoked at any time, and you can change the initial Jasper settings through the application’s preferences. The same area enables you to decide whether you want to use the built-in browser, or if you want to send a link to an external utility.

Additionally, Jasper can show notifications for new posts, show only unread questions, or put an unread count marker in the Dock. By default, Jasper stores up to 100000 records, but you can adjust this value and even delete all local data with the push of a button.

Browse posts, sort them by different criteria, and reply on the spot

Jasper has single, two and three pane view modes to help you explore all your data in a way that suits your workflow. You can easily switch between them thanks to the associated hotkeys.

Additional panes help you sort entries by their status (Inbox, Unread, Open, Starred, or Archived) or source (Me, Team, Watching, or Subscribed). Jasper also enables you to view the stream you are following.

Jasper also integrates a simple search tool that allows you to sort entries based on different criteria: updated, read, created or closed at a certain time, or expired on a certain date. Since Jasper can open posts in its UI, this means you can post your replies without leaving the app.
