This game offers an interface similar to the one you’ll find on Google Maps, but it has elements of horror, with landmarks that will make you discover creepy images. Mapfriend offers a short but entertaining experience with a simple layout reminiscent of Windows XP menus.

Visual presentation and sound

MapFriend provides minimalist visual presentation with an interface similar to Windows XP. In this window view, you have tools that allow you to zoom and pan around the map to get to the red pins that represent points of interest. You can then find some disturbing things while exploring the area in Street View.

Sound in the game too minimalistic and atmospheric; you will hear nothing but the sound of old computers running in the background and the noises made by the mapping software when you click or zoom. It creates an atmosphere that gives you goosebumps and keeps you on your toes throughout the experience.

Unobtrusive horror game

MapFriend brings a creepy twist to a type of app that we’re very familiar with, turning it into a source of horror. This is a game you can play alone in the dark, or get a friend to play by telling them it’s a GeoGuessr for a good scare. This is an original idea to immerse you in a horror game. It’s nice to see a game that isn’t based in some abandoned building with nothing but dark hallways and screamers.
