free is a minimalist status bar app that helps you connect to the internet and app blocking services and quickly start restricting your access to certain pages so you can focus on your work.

Sign up for an account and track and manage all your devices

In order to be able to enter the Freedom interface, you first need to provide your credentials. Note that you can sign up for an account for free, but you’ll need to choose one of the supported subscription plans to use the service after the trial period ends.

From the Freedom menu, you can see all the devices connected to your account, choose which blacklists you want to apply, start and even schedule a Focus meeting.

Remember that you can only select predefined options via the status bar menu: most configuration is done in the Freedom web application. The app simply launches the corresponding page in your default browser, where you must also be logged into your account.

Create blacklists, schedule focus meetings and track active meetings

The Freedom menu lets you know if any focus sessions are currently active, and helps you start a new focus session in seconds: select a blocklist and time period, and you’re done.

Freedom allows you to rely on predefined time presets when starting a new session, but you can also create custom timers. There is no way to stop the session from this utility, but you can navigate to the Freedom web application and delete the timer completely.

Other options include blocking email and chat too, so you can make sure you’re focused on your current project and no one can interrupt you.

Freedom offers you the possibility to block certain websites or applications in order to prevent unwanted distractions from preventing you from fully concentrating on your work.

The Freedom service offers you the possibility to track all devices through the same web console and enables you to define custom block lists.
