Blackmagic HyperDeck is a handy app designed to work with HyperDeck Shuttle, HyperDeck Studio and HyperDeck Studio Pro devices.

First, connecting the HyperDeck disk recorder can be done by plugging it into a power source, connecting video source and target devices, and inserting an SSD or SD card into the system.

The application allows you to connect your HyperDeck unit to your computer using a standard USB cable, and as soon as you start it up, it follows the main screen instructions.

Blackmagic HyperDeck lets you set the recording format (which also defines the supported playback formats), and choose the events that trigger the recording. The recording format can be set from the application’s main window.

The program can also be used to make changes and update the firmware of your HyperDeck unit. Installing the utility on your computer also deploys a set of 10-bit codecs to ensure maximum compatibility.

The desired video format can be selected by clicking the circular Settings icon in the on-screen HyperDeck illustration, accessing the Recording Settings section, clicking the Codec combo menu and selecting the desired entry.
