macOS comes with a built-in application switcher that can be activated using the Command + Tab hotkey, but the user has no control over which utilities are included in the bar or the hotkey.

Right away, you’ll need to add the HyperSwitch application to the list of utilities authorized to control your Mac. You can do this through the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences.

The next step is to open the HyperSwitch preferences window and decide if you want the application to run in the background, in which case the tool will also be included in the list of login items.

By default, you can activate the HyperSwitch window switcher with the Option + Tab hotkey (the bar will include all windows) or Option + § / ‘ to see only the current application’s windows. Note that you can personalize both hotkeys.

Note that you can disable the HyperSwitch Dock and menu bar icons and run the utility in the background as a service.

All in all, HyperSwitch gives you the possibility to quickly browse through windows and see their contents before putting them on top.
