Changes and new features:

– Added coalescable buffer support (VIRTIO_NET_F_MRG_RXBUF in virtio spec) for VDPA kernel mode to improve performance for large MTUs (eg 9K). This feature is disabled by default and must be manually enabled when creating or modifying a virtio device. Note: For best performance, it is not recommended to enable this feature if the VDPA MTU is set to the default value (1500).
– This new feature enables a virtual machine to track and limit the activity of its Vports. This is done using the new q_counters counter which aggregates other Vports from PF GVMI.
– Added a flow rule to offload multicast traffic by broadcasting it to the multiflow table in FDB.
– Enables smooth, static switching between PCC algorithms. Additionally, users can now switch between PCC algorithms while running traffic.
– Added support for 32 operations in header modification mode using bulk allocation.
– Software can explicitly set the SL of the RTT response packet instead of taking it from the SL of the RTT request packet. The RTT response packet SL can be set/queried via CONGESTION_CONTROL_HCA_NP_PARAMETER MAD.

Added support for running PCC firmware traces without saving and sending DB strings to tools with the following changes:
– Added new string section in user PCC image creation tool
– Add new PCC DB string to MTRC access register output
– As far as tools are concerned: added support for reading string.db using MTRC access registers

Bug fixes:

– Added a safety mechanism to prevent links from getting stuck when bad tuning results are received. In this case, the linking process restarts and the mechanism retries to establish the link.
– Improved rate limit token reassignment algorithm.
– Improved non-consumable bandwidth reallocation.
– Fixed an issue that caused NODNIC VF to fail to ping when VLAN stripping was enabled.
– Fixed vDPA application initialization failure due to virtual queue creation failure. This failure is accompanied by a “0x8f7a: Ring address translation failed” assertion, which indicates that QEMU is giving incorrect permissions to the virtual ring memory.
– After switching to Programmable Congestion Control mode, the CNP Receive, Process and Ignore counters in the hardware counters do not work.
