How do you play?

Name a movie. Name an actor in that movie. Then you can name another movie with that actor. Continue until someone escapes. And that’s it!

However, let’s say someone (Charlie) gets stumped, then he can use a hint (1 per turn). If Charlie gets stuck again, he can challenge the player who came right before him (Rose). If Rose answers correctly, Charlie is out. If Rose gets it wrong, she’s out! In multiplayer games, you continue until only one player is left.

What are the rules?

1. You cannot repeat an actor or a movie.
2. Each player only gets one hint per game.
3. You can challenge as many times as you like.

Many ways to play

In this app we offer several ways to play with friends, family or neighbors with exceptional abilities to remember obscure movies.

• Compete: Play others 1v1 in turn-based games. Play with 20, 30, 60 seconds or unlimited time.
• Pass N’ Play: In this multiplayer version, add your friend’s name and play!
• Bots: Challenge our movie bots to 1v1 games. When you’re up for a challenge, try Daryl or Halle!
• Practice: See how far you can go yourself by putting together movies and actors!
• Puzzle: Can you get from Tom Hanks to Angelina Jolie in 12 moves? Prove it!

Popcorn is delicious…and healthy

Bags of popcorn are the game’s currency. Use popcorn to buy hints or extra games. Everyone gets 1 free Pass N’ Play game per day (this includes all players and hints for each player). Extra plays cost 1 bag of popcorn. In Compete, everyone gets 3 active bets at all times. To launch more games, pay one bag of popcorn. Hint costs a bag of popcorn too. What can we say, we love popcorn.

An icon at the top right shows you how much popcorn you have left. Each player starts with a large stash of popcorn. When you use it up, go to the concession stand to buy more popcorn. Or buy the Director’s Chair subscription for unlimited hints and games all month. It’s super comfortable and you’ll feel full of artistic vision.

Things to remember

• To use the app, you must have a solid internet connection. This is important!
• To play Compete, Pass N’ Play or Bots, you must log in for an account.
• You can use your own first name or a username in the account section. This is how people will find you. Enter this after registering for an account.
• In Compete, swipe left to delete active or past games.
• When searching for actors/actresses, you can sometimes enter a first or last name to find them faster.
• Use Research to find your own “moves” with lesser known films or actors. You will impress your friends!

Subscription prices and terms:

The movie game offers an auto-renewing monthly subscription of $2.99/month to give you premium access to have unlimited active games. The normal limit is 3. Hints are also free with a premium Director’s Chair subscription, but still limited to 1 per game.

Payment will be charged to the credit card linked to your iTunes account when you confirm your subscription purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period and the cost of the renewal will be identified. You can manage your subscription and auto-renewal can be turned off by going to your account settings after purchase.
