Auto Stuckett! is a comprehensive and accessible program designed to provide an efficient and simple way to align and stack multiple astronomical images into batch files. It uses some correction elements and allows you to apply multi-threading configurations to improve the overall appearance of the output.

Portable tool that provides different options to obtain global recordings

Our goal is to effortlessly create high-quality images of each planet in the solar system, such as the Sun, Mercury or the Moon. It supports uncompressed AVI and SER video files, as well as projects containing a range of BMP, FIT, PNG, JPEG and TIFF still frames.

The app features an intuitive but complex interface and may require some basic video editing knowledge to get the desired results. Auto Stuckett! Comes with all the necessary tools in an archive that can be easily placed on an external drive and run from any PC. It consists of two separate windows, one containing image stabilization, quality estimator, information, stacking options and advanced settings, and the other containing live view, display and visualization settings.

Configure frame properties and choose the correct settings for each planet

First you have to open the desired file by browsing its location and then load it into the frame view panel where you can play and stop frames. Additionally, in the same pane, you can change the zoom and image width and height, as well as scale each photo and calibrate the brightness.

Image stabilization lets you choose the types of objects you want to stack, such as the surfaces for solar and lunar craters and sunspots, and planets for different planets, similar to Jupiter using the Center of Gravity (COG). If you choose the latter, it is recommended to mark the dynamic background as well.

Check the overall integrity of the file and modify advanced properties

The estimator calculates the quality of each frame in the video and offers two different options: gradient (for large planets) and margin (for smaller planets). You can then proceed to analyze the video, with the tool examining each frame and generating a series of stacked photos to use as reference later. The graphical representation shows the overall quality of each frame.

Alignment points are useful for making sure each structure aligns with other structures, as it can end up causing distortions. Once completed, you can generate the final stack. Using advanced properties, you can modify field rotation (e.g. latitude, altitude, duration), vertical and horizontal blur, and row and column alignment.
