Firmware upgrade instructions
– Note: To avoid wireless disconnection issues during firmware download, NETGEAR recommends performing firmware upgrades on a computer with a wired connection.

– Download the new firmware and extract it to a convenient location, such as your desktop.
– Log in to the router using a web browser.
– Click Advanced tab > Management > Firmware Upgrade.
– Click “Browse” and find the file you just downloaded.
– Click to upload. Do not interrupt the upgrade while the router performs this step.
Important tips:
– The upgrade process is complete when the progress bar on the screen completes. If the power LED turns amber and flashes, restart the router to complete the upgrade.
– If the upgrade progress bar on the Web GUI does not display correctly during the firmware upgrade process, you can still check the status using the power LED. During the firmware upgrade, the power LED should flash (amber). Once the firmware upgrade is complete and the system boots, it will turn solid amber.
– Do not shut down or restart the device during the firmware upgrade process, otherwise the firmware may be damaged and the device may not work.
