ZTE It is a Java-based open source one-dimensional/two-dimensional barcode image processing library that supports multiple barcode formats and Android barcode scanner clients. It can be used in Java projects that require barcode scanning functionality.

The library supports multiple 1D and 2D barcode formats, including UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN-8, EAN-13, and QR codes. Although the library is written in Java, ports in other languages ​​are available for those who wish to implement it into other products.

ZXing consists of the core image decoding library, JavaSE client code, Android barcode scanner client, Android integration module, core Android related code, and the code behind web applications implemented using the library.

It’s worth pointing out that the project is currently in maintenance mode and is only updated through contributed patches. The only changes in future releases will be bug fixes and minor enhancements. Additionally, the Barcode Scanner app will no longer receive any updates.

As it stands, this library is useful for developers who need to start adding barcode scanning capabilities to Java-based software. Some work may be needed to future-proof the code, and updates will be few and far between.
