Tracking the time you spend on certain apps may help in the long run. Maybe you want to know how productive you are, or how long it takes to complete certain tasks. While you can do this just fine with a manual time tracker, why not give an automatic tracker a try?

Color system Programs you assign to specific projects are automatically tracked. Name your project, specify the corresponding program, and the software will automatically track your activities to measure how much time you spent on the project.

The program works just as you would expect. It automatically tracks the time you spend on selected applications and does this by recognizing when their respective windows are in focus.

Since it’s easy to get everything running, you can track as many projects as you want. You can configure how detection and tracking are handled through the Settings menu, where you can set the minimum time for recording applications, and set the maximum AFK time.

erratic behavior

The stability of this program is rather questionable. Although everything works fine most of the time, desktop crashes are more common than I’d like. Maybe this has something to do with tracking multiple apps across multiple projects, or something else entirely, but the point is, whether you’re running Windows 10 or 11, the program doesn’t seem to be entirely stable.

Regardless, the core ideas here and their implementation are solid. Since this is still an early release, there’s definitely a lot of potential to look forward to. Addressing Chrolog’s stability issues will make the program very valuable to many people, but as it stands, frequent desktop crashes aren’t helping anyone.
