The DNS resolver cache is a temporary database stored on your local computer that includes recent successful and unsuccessful accesses to websites and individual domains. At times, the database has been corrupted by unauthorized domains, IPs, and numerous technical glitches.

Unbound stores this information in the underlying cache and refreshes it each time a response is received

On the other hand, if no reply is received and the timeout exceeds 120 seconds, it is possible for the application to apply a blocking scheme. As you would expect, you have complete configuration and control over behavior in blocking and delay situations.
