As you use your computer, various files and folders will accumulate on your drive, so it’s a good idea to organize and sort them. Procrastinating or not doing so will result in everything being scattered all over the place, making it difficult for you to find what you need.

So how do people properly organize their stuff? Grouping items of interest into specific folders, renaming them, or putting them on external drives – we’ve all done it. But what if there was software that made everything easier? Label Space

Getting started with this program is quick and easy. Both the interface and the software features are easy to understand, so anyone can navigate the application with ease. The layout is roughly reminiscent of the way File Explorer handles things, which makes tagging items much simpler.

As for the tags themselves, just select the files and folders you want to find more easily and click the little white tag icon near the top of the layout. From here you can enter one or more tags — you’ll need to press Enter after entering each one — and then you’ll be prompted to add them, which is the gist of it.

If you wish to find marked items, you can enter their keywords in Windows Search and they will appear instantly.

When you first launch the application, you’ll need to choose your file tagging method: don’t worry, you can freely modify this later in the settings menu. You can choose the “Rename files” option, which will make the program include the tag in the file’s name, or you can choose the more sophisticated Sidecar file method.

Sidecar tagging works by storing the tags in an additional .json file. We can’t say definitively which approach is better — either way we had no problem finding the tagged files.

TagSpaces is an interesting program: it helps with organization, and when files and folders keep piling up, having software like this helps a lot.
