Natsume Inc. and Rising Star Games have announced Harvest Moon: One World for Nintendo Switch, "a new way to explore Harvest Moon for seasoned gamers and new generations alike."
Launched this fall, the game will allow new farmers to explore a whole world filled with "new and familiar faces, unique cities and adventurous challenges", while managing their growing farm. The new title is under development with a brand new engine and graphics.
Hiro Maekawa, President and CEO of Natsume, shared the following in a press release:
Harvest Moon: One World presents a new way to explore Harvest Moon that will appeal to seasoned gamers and new generations alike. Over the decades, Harvest Moon has evolved but has always retained the pleasure of traditional and family farming for which the franchise is known to. "The new engine and graphics will enhance this experience for 2020. We are excited to share more about the functionality of Harvest Moon: One World in the coming months."
No screenshot or preview has yet been published (we only have the above graphic to continue so far), but we have our first game details under the form of this official propaganda:
Can you imagine a world without tomatoes, strawberries or even cabbage? In the last entry in the Harvest Moon series, it is in this situation that players will find themselves. Only an old book hints at what it once was … Encouraged by a mysterious discovery, players will find themselves embarked on an adventure that spans not only their hometown but the whole world! What kind of people and places are they waiting for? From the beautiful beaches of Halo Halo to the snow-capped mountains of Salmiakki, there is literally a whole world to explore.
In January, Natsume president Hiro Maekawa laughed at a series of "exciting new projects". It certainly seems like this must be one of them.
