[ad_1]
After Microsoft released its Windows 10 version 20H2 Yes Windows 10 version 2004 updates, some users have reported issues with their PC freezing, especially when connecting an external NVMe Thunderbolt SSD. A incompatibility problem between these types of SSDs and the last Windows versions was the culprit, which has led some users to experience the dreaded Blue Screen of Death. But now there is a patch to resolve this issue.
TechRadar (via Latest windows) reported that Microsoft recently released an optional update KB4586853 for SO builds 19041.662 and 19042.662, which it’s supposed to fix the problem. If you’ve seen a DRIVER_VERIFIER_DMA_VIOLATION error message recently, you now know the cause. Although this bug only seems to affect devices with older / incompatible Thunderbolt ports and controllers, however, it is boring.
KB4586853 is an optional update, which means IIt won’t be applied automatically when Windows 10 performs its usual round of critical updates, so you’ll need to install it manually. If you are one of the many people who have not yet received the 20H2 or 2004 update, you will need to update to the current version of Windows first and then apply the KB4586853 patch.
The patch also fixes a few other bugs that were introduced with the last one updates, mainly issues with find certain Microsoft Xbox consoles on a Windows device; Narrator responds after unlocking a device if Narrator was in use before locking the device; Microsoft Xbox Game Bar app controls are not displayed in some Microsoft DX9 games that run with a variable refresh rate enabled on supported monitors; Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) which appears with a black screen when users log in; devices connected to USB 3.0 hubs that stop working after putting the PC to sleep or restarting; nailNorth Dakota many, many others
.
Unfortunately, Windows 10 updates tend to romper things that were good in previous versions, orr move around certain characteristics and not clearly communicating these movements to users. In July, Microsoft Notepad, paint and WordPad for those who have upgraded to the 2004 version, when in fact it simply reclassified them as “optional programs” which you must reactivate in the Optional Features menu in Settings. That same month, Microsoft corrected a 17 year problem in Windows Domain Name System (DNS) which could have helped hackers intercept DNS queries and redirect users to a bogus website. He also moved some Control panel features, the Fresh Start functionand closed a beloved flaw in business systems that allowed users delay critical updates for up to a year
