Vitalik Buterin steps back on Ethereum 2.0 release date in July

[ad_1]
The long-awaited release of ETH 2.0 has had the Ethereum community in a state of anticipation for over a year right now. The developers had originally set a release date for January 2020. But that date came and went with just more news and more delays since then.
It follows that during the Consensus: distributed conference, which runs virtually from May 11-15, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has apparently confirmed that the project is about to launch in July 2020. However, in a twist unexpected, Buterin demoted to the release date.

in one peepButerin claims to have misunderstood the question and then confirmed that ETH 2.0 would not be ready by July. This disappointing turn of events was welcomed by the FUD of the Ethereum community. Some even claim that it is unlikely that ETH 2.0 will be launched this year.
I can now officially confirm that ETH 2.0 will not be released in July.
Stay tuned for an official confirmation that it won't launch in July 2021 either!

Ethereum 2.0 still in phase 0 of the roadmap in 4 phases
Since the launch of Ethereum in mid-2015, its main developers have been playing catch-up. ETH 2.0, with significant improvements in scaling, as well as the implementation of a proof of participation model, intended to address these concerns.
Regular updates show that development is taking shape. For example, in late April, Ethereum developer Eric Connor tweeted an update on the progress of the ETH 2.0 testnet as well as the link Github update.
“The first phase of Ethereum 2.0, phase 0, is the tag chain. For the first time, a variety of new customers will work together on a new blockchain with a new and unique approach to networking and consensus. "
What the Schlesi testnet, as it is called, currently has two clients: Lighthouse from Sigma Prime and Prysm from Prysmatic Labs.

But look Roadmap dated May 2019 shows how far current development is from initial expectations. According to the roadmap below, phase 0, Beacon Chain should be completed by the end of 2019. However, almost mid-2020 and there is no indication that this will happen soon.

The tag chain phase concerns the transition from proof of work to proof of participation. Developers, Consensus indicate that the PoW and PoS chains will work together during this development phase. This will ensure chain continuity until the PoW chain is turned off.
"The Beacon chain is a proof of stake blockchain and will mark the longstanding proof of implementation consensus mechanism."
The competition is heating up
Delays in Eth 2.0 ask if the main developers of Ethereum can provide. This is particularly applicable given the large number of "Ethereum Assassins" pulling to take their crown.
With that, Charles hoskinson He recently compared Cardano to Ethereum saying:
"Compare that with Cardano, where we brought the scientists together and followed the peer review process, and we systematically wrote article after article, and these articles were subject to review peer and slowly developed the whole theory of evidence of the issue for a signal "where we feel comfortable, then we start talking about it. "
In addition, Hoskinson further contrasts the projects by saying that the Cardano foundations have established the project in a good place. While Ethereum is severely hampered by adding development to preexisting code that is already obsolete.
