Revolutionary Smart Bones ™
Smart Bones is an incredible feature that reduces or completely eliminates distortion around your character’s joints, especially around the knees and elbows. Group a set of points and use the Smart Bones control levers to create 3D motion that can be easily repeated by turning the dial.

FBX Support for Unity ™ Game Developers
Unity ™ game developers and users will now be able to leverage FBX support for animated 2D content in Moho Pro, eliminating the need to create hard sprites for game development and giving them the look and feel they want. FBX, an adaptable file format for 3D animation from Autodesk

® is the most common method for integrating animated 2D and 3D assets into Unity.

Bone restrictions
There have been several major improvements made to Moho’s bones in particular. The new Bone Limit feature will include rig options to help customize more complex and powerful characters. The independent angle constraint allows the bone to maintain its global angle, like an operator crane, and is independent of inverse kinematics or its parents. Ideal uses of bone constraints are characters’ robotic arms or legs that support the constraints while the rest of the leg moves.

Import Photoshop files
Import existing Photoshop files with all layers intact. Changes made in Photoshop are instantly reflected in the imported file in Anime Studio, allowing you to continually improve your Photoshop document. Many Photoshop Imported PSD files support features including Blend Modes, Layer Opacity, Smart Objects, and Smart Filters. Groups are also supported and can be configured in Photoshop to automatically import into the application as toggle layers for quick animation.

Connect to real-time multimedia
Anime Studio’s new live media connection automatically updates images, movies and audio files in imported Anime Studio files when edited in an external program. This is a great workflow improvement for both individuals and production studios.

GPU acceleration
Graphics processing unit (GPU) acceleration takes advantage of your computer’s hardware to improve performance and quality for several types of layers, allowing you to see exactly what the tool is doing when you apply a stroke or shape to the stage. Performance improvements can help reduce pixelation and artifacts when working with certain graphics, such as vector and graphic layers.

Nested layer controls
Previously, bones could only control their direct descendants. Bones can now control the children of their children. If you have a group inside a bone layer and then vector layers within that group, the bone layer can control the artwork in those vector layers if the nested layer control is enabled. This allows for more powerful snap-in options while simplifying and providing greater organization in the layer hierarchy.

Flexible weave
Flexi-Binding isolates the effect of a set of bones from the rest of the skeleton. For example, only the bones of the right hand should affect the image of the right hand. This reduces (or eliminates) the need to split artwork at frame zero and then reassemble them with the Bone Offset tool. This is a great new feature for images and vectors.

Variable particle source
With particle layers, you can now use any shape, even one with gaps, as the starting point for your particles. To do this, simply place the reference layer at the bottom of the Particle Layer folder. Turn on “Use base layer as source” in the layer settings and you’re done!

Increased depth of field
Now that you create the depth of field effect in the project settings, you will get a visual representation of where you will be focusing in the workspace using the Orbit tool. This is a great addition if you find it difficult to remember what the depth of field adjustments will do to change the effect. Placing the focus line closer to your subjects will ensure they are in focus and everything else will be blurry, depending on your focusing range.

Scripts
More scripting access and control. It offers advanced scripting support and updates. Additional functions and data structures of the program have been exposed through the scripting API, allowing advanced technical users to create more personalized tools and add-ons.

Layers of Compositions
Export multiple layers individually with one click. Layer comps are useful when you only want to export selected items in your scene so you can merge them externally in third-party software. For example, you can create a Layer Comp that refers to background elements, another refers to characters, and a third refers to foreground elements or headers. Toggle groups on and off until you get items that logically belong together. Then create a new layer composition from this group. During rendering, you can choose to render specific layer comps as a movie file.

Flexible HD import and export
Anime Studio for Mac can import several kinds of other media into an animation project. Import QuickTime® videos, AVI or MPEG-4 videos, or even 3D scenes from Poser. Image-based modeling allows create 3D objects from 2D vector layers. And the included Content Library contains hundreds of ready-to-use characters, props and more.

Patch layers
Layer patches were designed to create characters and are like masks, allowing you to hide certain parts of the layer. Create each body part separately and then hide the overlapping lines. Adjust the size of the patch so that the layers blend perfectly and get the style you want.

64-bit architecture
Moho Anime Studio is a 64-bit application. The improvements in speed and memory will be noticed by everyone using 64-bit machines. Improve rendering speed and preview performance.
