Features and specialties

THE BEST POSSIBLE ENCRYPTION. At Password Depot, your information is encrypted not just once, but actually twice, thanks to the AES or Rijndael 256 algorithm. In the US, this algorithm is approved for top-secret government documents!

DOUBLE PROTECTIONYou can protect your password files twice. First, you choose a master password, which you must enter to open the file. You can also protect your data with a key file, which you must download to open the file.

PROTECTION AGAINST DEEP-BRUTES ATTACKS. After each incorrect entry of the master password, the program is blocked for three seconds. This makes attacks based on simply testing possible passwords – so-called “brute force attacks” – virtually impossible.

BACKUPS. The tool creates backup copies of password files. Backup copies can be stored optionally on FTP servers on the Internet (also via SFTP) or on external hard drives. You can individually define the time interval between backups.

KEYLOGGING PROTECTION. All password fields in the program are protected from various types of keystroke interception (Key Logging). This prevents the possibility of eavesdropping on your intelligent data inputs.

TRACELESS MEMORY. When working with your passwords, the application does not leave any traces in the RAM of your PC. Therefore, even a hacker sitting right at your computer and viewing its memory dumps will not be able to find any passwords.

CLIPBOARD PROTECTION: The tool automatically detects all active clipboard viewers and masks their keyboard changes; after autofill, all sensitive data is automatically removed from the clipboard.

VIRTUAL KEYBOARD. The final protection against keyloggers. With this tool, you can enter your master password or other sensitive information without even touching the keyboard. The software does not simulate keystrokes, but instead uses an internal cache so that they cannot be intercepted by either software or hardware.

FAKE MOUSE CURSORS. When typing using the program’s virtual keyboard, you can also set the program to display multiple fake mouse cursors instead of the usual single cursor. This additionally makes it impossible to recognize your keyboard actions.

CARDS, IDENTIFICATION CARD, LICENSES. The software protects and manages not only your passwords, but also information from credit cards, EC cards, software licenses and IDs. Each type of information offers a separate model, such as a credit card window with a PIN field.

ATTACHED FILES. You can add file attachments that contain, for example, additional information to your password entries. These attachments can be opened directly from the tool and additionally saved to a storage medium.

PASSWORD TRANSFER. You can import passwords from other password managers into the application, as well as export records from the program. For this, the software offers you special wizards that make it easier to import and export password information.

CONVENIENT INTERFACEThe user interface of the application is similar to that of Windows Explorer. This allows you to efficiently navigate through password lists and quickly find any password you are looking for.

AUTOFILL. If you want, PasswordDepot will automatically fill in your passwords on websites opened in regular browsers. This feature works through an internal setting on one hand, and through so-called browser add-ons on the other.

AUTOMATIC RECOGNITION. You can set up the program to automatically recognize what password information matches the website you are visiting, and then pre-select that password for you, and also automatically enter that information into the website if you want.

CONFIGURABLE PROGRAM PARAMETERSThanks to a variety of software options, the software can be customized down to the smallest detail – not only in terms of its appearance, but also in terms of its internal functions, such as the use of browsers or networks.

CUSTOM BROWSERS. You can define which browsers you would like to use in the program. This way, you are not tied to common browsers such as Fire Fox or Internet Explorer but can also be used OperaFor example.
