Espanso is a text replacement program that allows you to write faster on your computer. This kind of program, known as a “text expander”, detects the writing of certain keywords and replaces them with other keywords. Thanks to this, even if you have written many of the same sentences, you can quickly insert them into the text without having to completely rewrite it.

Espanso works with any program that allows you to enter text. It also supports emojis and photos. After installation, you can access the configuration and create your own custom macros that automatically appear when you type the assigned word.

For example, by default, typing “:espanso” replaces the text with “Hello!”. You can write custom scripts, assign form inputs, and use specific configurations for each program. So if you write the same word, it will be replaced with the word you assigned to that program.

The configuration file location is C:UsersuserAppDataRoamingespanso. So we need to find the base.yml file. In it, you can enter the desired command, as in the following example.

– Trigger: “:expanded”
Replace with: “Hello!”

When you use the command you replace and save it to a file, the settings are automatically reloaded into Espanso.If not, go to the taskbar icon, right click and[構成の再読み込み]Click. You can also view all shortcuts in the search section.
