GZDoom is an improved version of Doom’s official source code, optimized to run perfectly on any version of Windows from 95 onwards, with some improvements over the original engine.

It’s important to emphasize that GZDoom is just an engine. So it’s not a complete game in itself. Instead, you can run almost any title that uses the Doom engine, including Ultimate Doom, Doom 2, Heretic, and Hexen, as long as you have the original files.

Among the most notable improvements over the original we find support for all types of resolutions, improvements and increases in some textures, the possibility of using a free view of the mouse, or the use of translucent objects.
