Windows Media Player is a multimedia player from the first version of the Microsoft Windows operating system. As of Windows Vista, this tool was included by default with the operating system, but prior to Windows XP, it had to be installed separately. Here is the installer.

This tool allows you to play all kinds of multimedia files, both video and audio, with endless formats and encoders support, so associate it with most of the popular file extensions and use it as your default player I can do it. The only downside is that it’s not as lightweight as other alternatives, but being an official Microsoft product, it’s more than compensated for by its robustness and clear integration with the rest of the operating system.
