The 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 650 was launched in India at a price of 6.44 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The mid-weight bike sees significant updates to the BS4 model, in terms of design. Design

The updated Ninja 650 has a completely new interface. In terms of design, it is more in line with the appearance of the Versys 1000 and Ninja 400. The fairing is completely new and has a much sharper and more aggressive style than the previous model. In addition, the headlights are now LED units and the group itself has been redesigned. The motorcycle side panels are also new and of a slightly different design. The motorcycle windshield is also new, flush with the fairing. At the rear, the passenger seat is a new, larger and more comfortable unit for the passenger driver.

The bike has a new 4.3 inch color TFT screen compatible with the Kawasaki Rideology app. The application offers Bluetooth and smartphone connectivity as well as the storage of GPS records.

Engine

The 2020 Ninja 650 still has the same 649 cc parallel twin engine, which is liquid cooled and pumps 67.3 hp at 8000 rpm, in addition to having a maximum torque of 64 Nm at 6700 rpm . The only change in the engine configuration is the new airbox and an updated exhaust system, which was required to meet BS6 emission standards. The engine has also been modified to offer better grunt in the mid-range. Apart from that, the engine remains the same and also the 6-speed gearbox.

Cycle parts

The motorcycle still weighs 196 kg (empty weight) and the ground clearance remains equal to 130 mm. At the front, the bike continues to benefit from 300mm double disc brakes as well as 41mm telescopic forks. At the rear there is a single 220mm disc with a mono shock absorber. The bike is covered with Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tires, which provide better grip.
