After most Indian automakers have submitted warranty and service extensions for their customers due to the Coronavirus blockage, the country's major tire manufacturers are following suit. In their latest decision, CEAT tires announced that they had extended the warranty on all of their tires for a period of three months across India. The three month warranty extension applies to all tires that expire between March 1, 2020 and May 1, 2020. This warranty extension will be considered based on the code of the week or the week ;year of manufacture.

CEAT has also launched a campaign to disinfect trucks delivering essential products to Mumbai.

According to the company, the decision was made to express support for customers as part of the ongoing blockade. Arnab Banerjee, Chief Operating Officer of CEAT Tires Ltd, said: "We made the decision with the safety of our customers in mind. Although we all follow government guidelines for social disposition, we want to ensuring that our customers continue to benefit from the warranty during these test periods. "

In the midst of the pandemic, CEAT also launched a truck disinfection campaign, delivering essential products to Mumbai. This includes disinfecting the cab of the truck, distributing face masks, disinfectants and food packages to drivers and cleaners. To reach those in need during the closure, the company has also started the voluntary distribution of food parcels across India. So far, thousands of food parcels have been distributed in Mumbai, Nashik, Chennai, Vadodara, Jaipur and Jabalpur, with an average of 5,800 food parcels newly distributed each day during this critical period.
