Honda V-Twin Powered Roadster revealed in exclusive images

Honda may be considering unveiling a new road bike powered by a V-twin engine, as the latest patent images seem to indicate. Leaking patent images show a retro-style roadster with a 1980s silhouette, but what matters is the type of engine used. Although the patent application does not disclose displacement, it confirms the v-twin type architecture, a type of engine currently used by Honda on certain cruises. If patent images are any indication, Honda could consider introducing a neo-retro roadster, but powered by a V-twin engine, instead of the current four in-line engines used in the CB series.

The patent document does not really detail the V-twin engine, nor does it mention any formally considered application. But what the drawings clearly show is the V-twin located inside the chassis. The profile of the bike does not resemble the current Neo Sports Cafe style of the Honda CB1000R, but is a little closer to the retro style of the Honda CB1100.

What we know so far is that the patent was originally filed in February 2018 and was only published in late April 2020. Up to now , nobody knows if Honda has production plans for this model or if the patent it was used to display only the V-twin engine. But if it is on the next list of Honda models, a retro roadster with a liter class V-twin certainly looks interesting! If any of these plans are underway, expect a concept to emerge at some point, perhaps by the end of the year or in 2021.
