Hyundai 45 spied on with less camouflage than ever

The Hyundai 45 finally takes to the road without the fabric covering the body. The exterior still wears a camouflage wrap, but it is now possible to see more details on the lines of the vehicle.

With the fabric out of the way, we can see that the front design matches the shape of the concept 45. There is a cutout area between the edge of the hood and the bumper where the headlights are located, and this section covers the entire width of the nose. Instead of the concept pixel lamps, the production version has more conventional rectangular shaped lights. As an EV, the vehicle does not need large inlets to direct air into the radiators, so the only openings here are relatively small.

In profile, Route 45 has some similarities to the concept. Some of the photos show deep folds along the doors which make the vehicle more visually interesting than a simple crossover. The A-pillar and the C-pillar have steep slopes that create a sporty silhouette. There are also black borders around the windows, which should provide a color contrast with the rest of the body.

At the rear there are quite small taillights. Expect them to be bigger when more camouflage comes out. The rest of the design seems to have a minimalist aesthetic with defined lines.

These spy photos do not offer a cockpit view. Expect the interior to be much more conventional than the sleek and simple look of the concept.

The 45 journeys on Hyundai's global electric platform. Otherwise, the details of the powertrain are a mystery, but it is expected to have all-wheel drive from an electric motor that spins each axle.

Look for all 45 to debut in 2021. Although, the exact time of the presentation is still unknown.
