With strict BS6 emissions regulations in effect last month, Nissan India has decided to reduce its product portfolio for the Indian market. The Japanese manufacturer has discreetly removed the Nissan Micra, Micra Active and Sunny from its official Indian site. Currently, the BS6 Kicks and GT-R are the only two cars currently listed. The automaker has abandoned these cars because they will not go through the BS6 transition. A spokesperson for Nissan India confirmed the decision. Low sales and high investment to meet BS6 emission standards are probably some of the reasons why these vehicles will be abandoned in the country.

Nissan entered the Indian market with the fourth generation Micra tailgate, which was introduced in 2010 and received mid-life updates in 2014. The next major facelift took place in 2017. The Nissan Micra MY2017 received automatic headlights with tracking, rain sensing wipers and sporty orange accents added to the cabin. The 1.2 liter petrol engine produced 76 hp and 104 Nm of power and was coupled to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The diesel engine was associated with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.5 liter diesel engine generated 63 hp and 160 Nm.
Nissan Sunny Special Edition launched in India in 2018
The company has expanded its product offering by adding the Nissan Sunny compact sedan to its product portfolio. The compact was first launched in India in 2011 and the updated version was introduced in 2017. Presented globally at the Guangzhou International Motor Show in China in 2010, the Nissan Sunny was the most spacious compact sedan on offer. at this moment. The sedan was powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine and a 1.5-liter diesel engine. The first produced 98 hp and 134 Nm of power and was attached to a CVT. The oil burner generated 85 CV and 200 Nm. The engine was struck by a 5-speed manual transmission.
