Okinawa resumes operations with 25% of staff

The two-wheeled electric vehicle manufacturer Okinawa has resumed operations with a workforce of 25% in its head office and its manufacturing unit after the relaxation of the rules for blocking coronaviruses. In a statement, Okinawa said the company would maintain security measures in the workplace, in the manufacturing unit and in the dealer network at the start of business. Okinawa dealers will also operate with 25% of employees, the company said, saying that a notice had been sent to the dealer network. All Okinawa products will be disinfected before being shipped from the assembly to the manufacturing unit. Distributor partners will also disinfect products after receiving them, the company said.

The Okinawa manufacturing plant will operate with 25 percent labor, but strict safety and social distancing measures, such as masks and sanctification, will be followed.

As a human resources initiative, all departments have been assigned to specialized committees to ensure compliance with SOPs. The human resources department will also organize daily COVID 19 awareness sessions with employees. The company has also put in place special equipment to transport employees to the hospital in the event of a medical emergency, then to the government quarantine center, if positive.
