What would you do if you thought you’d found an abandoned puppy on the side of a busy road?
One man from Japan recently thought he’d stumbled across just that and decided to take the sweet little creature in to look after her until she could find a forever home.
The man, named Marcy, called the animal Luna and shared the news of his discovery on Twitter.

He posted that he’d found a lost puppy on the highway and asked if anyone might know who she belonged to.
Many people took the time to respond to his tweet – but most were pointing out that it wasn’t a dog.
Twitter users thought that little Luna was actually a baby fox.
Unsure, Marcy vowed to take her to the vet for confirmation.
He shared an update, writing: «Thank you for your many retweets and opinions.
«I had a good night’s sleep after eating rice last night, and this morning I have a good appetite with defecation and urination.

«Isn’t it a fox? I will confirm it later with the veterinarian.»
Despite later finding out that she was indeed a fox, he continued to take care of the little creature for some time.
But ultimately he knew that he couldn’t keep her, as it’s illegal in Japan to keep foxes as pets.
So he decided to give her to a farm.

By this point, his tweets on Luna had gone viral and people were keen to know more.
He told them: «We have completed handing over the fox to Kita Kitsune Farm.
«If you have the opportunity, I would be happy if you could visit Luna.»
