Use the AMD Driver Auto-Detection utility to automatically detect your AMD graphics card and most importantly your Windows operating system. If your graphics card manufacturer has not provided drivers, download the latest official drivers from the website. If your video card does not work with the installed Windows operating system, you should choose a video card from another manufacturer. If the AMD Driver Auto-Detection utility does not work, you may need to replace your graphics card with a different one.

If your Windows operating system does not recognize your AMD card, use the following command to run the Windows Update graphics drivers: Windows XP Driver Updates

To update your graphics drivers, run Windows Update under Updates and Installations. Under Updates and Installations, click on the Windows XP Driver Autodetector link and click on Allow Windows to be installed, which is the blue link in the previous step. After Windows Update finishes updating the drivers, restart your computer to make sure the new drivers are installed correctly. The graphics driver auto-detect utility should also be able to fix any other problems with your graphics card; otherwise, you may need to contact a graphics adapter repair company.
