Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition has been designed from the ground up to let you do whatever you want with your computer while remaining 100% secure against electronic threats.

Bitdefender uses its own proprietary technologies, as well as improving the underlying technologies, which it then integrates for maximum protection.

Functions:

• Real time shield – The real-time screen is designed to protect access to the entire system. This means that files are scanned when they are accessed or copied. For example, files that you have just downloaded from the Internet are scanned immediately.
• Active virus control – Active Virus Control is an innovative proactive detection technology that can very quickly and accurately detect new potential threats for which default protection has not yet been released, thus providing the necessary level of protection.
• Intrusion detection system – This technology ensures that applications attempting to access the Internet or network do not masquerade as electronic threats by flagging them whenever their behavior is suspicious and stopping them if the score becomes high.
• B-to have – B-HAVE proactively detects unknown threats that other products miss by analyzing application behavior in a secure environment. If no malicious activity is detected, B-HAVE launches the program normally; otherwise, it is automatically quarantined or deleted.
• HTTP scanning – Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition also scans all links you access from your browser, checking them for various scams or credit card phishing attempts, and blocking them if they are not safe.
• Antirootkit – This technology is used to scan and block rootkits, a hidden type of software, often malicious, designed to hide the existence of certain processes or programs from conventional detection methods and provide permanent privileged access to a computer.
