Multifunctional bookkeeping application for macOS with a large collection of predefined account types to simplify the data entry process
BeanCounter
Multi-functional financial management application that can handle multiple businesses
Since BeanCounter creates a new database file for each new company, you can handle as many companies as you like: just make sure to open the appropriate database file when you need it.
To simplify the database creation process, BeanCounter can generate default accounts for income, expenses, equity or assets. This way, you don’t have to waste time setting up these new accounts manually.
In addition, BeanCounter can also import data from CSV, QIF, OFX or QFX data files. Therefore, you can directly import transaction files provided by the bank, or even easily migrate from another financial management application.
Set budgets, manage new customers, generate reports or create invoices
BeanCounter can be used to track multiple projects developed for a specific client and integrates a timer utility that records the time required to complete a specific task. This data can then be used to generate invoices.
The application allows you to create a contact database for customers and merchants, and you can import information from the address book.
Most importantly, you can set a budget for each included account, and then you can use the BeanCounter reporting tool to analyze balance, income, cash flow, net assets, etc. Reports can be exported as PDF, sent to a printer or shared via email.
Comprehensive business management solution with a learning curve
Considering the large number of features included in BeanCounter, the application may be a bit overwhelmed at the beginning. The utility does include a help document, which may answer some of your questions, but you do not have any hints when using the application.
However, during the test, we encountered at least one thing that could not work properly: even if BeanCounter provides this option, it is impossible to create a new business database without generating a default account.
