Cooldown is a simple but powerful Mac application developed in REALBasic that provides a well-organized user interface for transferring data between various hardware devices connected to serial ports.

To start using the CoolTerm application, you must first navigate to the Connection Options window and make the necessary adjustments to the serial port, terminal, transmit and receive options. This lets you specify the serial port to use for communication.

If the connection process is successful, the next step is to type the commands to be sent to the hardware device in the application’s main window.

The same area will display the received data in hexadecimal format. Note that you have the option to log all communication details.

Effortlessly personalize the way you visualize data

CoolTerm allows you to view transmissions between your Mac and hardware devices in HEX or ASCII mode: the first is recommended for viewing messages that cannot be represented in plain text.

For your convenience, CoolTerm features an auto-scroll feature that, when enabled, will automatically scroll to the bottom of the window to display the most recently received data. In addition, in the lower right area of ​​the main window, you can check the status of different serial port signals through the small LED buttons.
