The macOS weather widget is good, but the information it provides is limited and cannot be compared with the simple menu bar weather monitor. It’s no surprise that weather apps are still popular, but some apps have become a bit too complicated.
Dear sun Find the right balance between providing detailed information and keeping everything tidy. It can display the temperature, humidity, pressure, wind speed/direction and UV index of multiple locations through inconspicuous menu bar icons. It also provides hourly and daily forecasts.
Clear and intuitive weather monitor
After installation, you will find the application in the menu bar. You can choose which readings to display, depending on what you are interested in. Temperature and relative humidity are most useful, and wind speed is also helpful. Or you can keep it simple and get rid of everything except temperature.

You can add multiple locations, and you can switch between them by clicking the menu bar icon. The app does not use location services to determine your location, which is very useful for privacy-conscious users. Of course, this means you need to add your location manually.
Excellent design, but quite limited free plan
The appearance and effects of the application are great. It is discreet and easy to use, and it provides enough information for the vast majority of users. However, if you do not have a Pro subscription, only temperature readings are available. More importantly, the refresh interval is limited to 2 hours, which is quite a long time.
Of course, it makes sense to encourage subscriptions, because the weather API can be very expensive. The pricing is very reasonable, so you are definitely worth the money.
One of the best macOS weather apps
If you want a weather app that doesn’t look out of place, Dear Sun would be great. It is seamlessly integrated into the operating system and provides a large number of functions at the same time. The free plan is quite limited, but the paid plan is definitely worth the money.
