Diskinternals Partition Recovery – recovering deleted files from any Windows operating system
1/3
Founded by Bill Atkinson and Terry Johnson in 1985, Diskinternals is a small software development firm located in Boulder, Colorado. They offer alternatives to Linux and Windows. When looking for this type of service, you should be sure to find one that offers reliable customer support and has backup servers that are regularly monitored. This service is similar to many others, except they have their own backup servers in case your drives fail. If you’re not sure which disk recovery program to use on your specific operating system, Diskinternals offers both. Each will perform the same basic functions, such as formatting and partition recovery, but the differences between the two programs are minimal.
The Recovery Wizard is similar to the most popular Windows Recovery Wizard. Once you click the Next button, you will be taken to a screen with three sections where you can choose which files to copy or restore. When you decide to restore the file, Diskinternals will prompt you to insert a drive label. Once the disk is inserted, you will be returned to the Windows Partition Manager. From here, you will select your currently selected Windows operating system and click Next.
One of the most unique aspects of this program is the ability to recover deleted files using Windows or Linux. When using Windows, all you have to do is click “Select Drive” and navigate to the location where the file is located on your computer. Once in the directory, you will select the file and continue with the Diskinternals Partition Recovery Wizard. By the way, Diskinternals offers a free version of its Windows recovery program. Diskinternals Windows offers many additional features that are not available in the free version and are worth exploring if you are a Windows user.
