Ek Emma Is a handy Java code coverage tool designed for Eclipse that simplifies the way you develop and test applications. This plug-in was designed with the EMMA Java code coverage tool in mind and its purpose is to apply its ideas to the Eclipse workbench.
In simple terms, the utility adds a so-called launch mode to Eclipse that works similarly to the existing run and debug modes. The aforementioned mode is called Coverage and, as the name suggests, its purpose is to collect coverage data about the code. According to the developers, the application can launch multiple types of launches, including native Java, Eclipse, Equinox, Scala, and various tests such as TestNG, JUnit, or SWTBot.
After a comprehensive analysis in Coverage mode, information is displayed for each test or application launched in the Eclipse Workbench. The data presented is very detailed and can be drilled down to the method level for Java projects. The Java code source is highlighted so that it is clear which lines are fully covered, partially covered or not covered. Needless to say, you can control the type of information to be displayed. Depending on the project, the application can display instructions, branches, lines, methods or types.
