This package contains the files needed to install the Intel Serial IO Driver. If installed, updating (over-installing) may fix problems, add new features, or extend existing features. We do not recommend using this release on platforms other than those specified, although other operating systems may also be compatible.

Install the driver via the installer:

– Copy and extract the Intel Serial IO driver onto the platform under test.
– Locate the “SetupSerialIO.exe” file.
-Right click on the executable file and select the “Run as administrator” option from the menu to start the installer, then click the “Yes” button on the “User Account Control” popup.
– You should see a welcome screen with component details. Click the “Next >” button to continue the installation.
– Next, you should see the License Agreement screen. Please review the license agreement and if you accept the license terms, select the “I accept the terms in the license agreement” checkbox and click the “Next >” button to continue the installation.
– Next, you can choose the folder location where the driver will be installed. By default, the driver will be installed in c:\program Files\Intel\Intel Serial IO. Click the “Next >” button to continue the installation.
– Next, a list of driver components that the installer will install will be displayed. Click the “Next >” button to continue.
– After a successful installation, you should see the setup complete screen. Click the “Finish” button to complete the installation.

Install the driver silently via the installer

– Copy and extract the Intel Serial IO driver onto the platform under test.
– Open a command prompt (cmd.exe) with administrator privileges (ie run as administrator). Click the Yes button on the User Account Control popup.
– Change directory to the directory where you extracted the driver in step 1, then change to the “Driver_Installer” directory.
– To see all available options for the installer, run the command “SetupSerialIO.exe -?”
– You should see a popup. For “-l” that specifies the language of the settings dialog ” option, the LCID list is shown in the table below. Click “OK” to continue.
– Run the command “SetupSerialIO.exe -b -s” to start the silent installation. (Where x indicates a specific version number.) This process takes approximately 1 minute to complete. After the silent installation is complete, the system will automatically reboot.
– After the system starts, you can refer to Section 0 to check the driver version.

Install manually via an INF file:

– Copy and extract the Intel Serial IO driver onto the platform under test.
– Locate the INF file. (iaLPSS_GPIO.inf, iaLPSS_I2C.inf, iaLPSS_SPI.inf, iaLPSS_UART2.inf)
– Right click on the INF file and select the “Install” option from the menu to start the installation, then click the “Yes” button on the pop-up window.
– After installing all drivers, restart the system.
