Gridy is a simple software application that creates an invisible grid on your screen, allowing any window you resize or move to quickly snap to it.

Control snapping by dragging the mouse cursor or using the keyboard arrows. The program also comes with other handy options and configuration settings.

Since there is no installation package involved, you can save the program file to any part of your hard disk and just click on the .exe file to start Gridy. Otherwise, you can save it to a USB stick or other mass storage device to easily run it on any PC without additional installation programs. In addition, it does not modify Windows registry settings.

Once launched, Gridy creates an icon in the taskbar notification area for quick access and indicates this by displaying a message.

Double-clicking the icon will bring up a panel containing the commands provided by this application and their corresponding hotkeys.

You can snap moved or resized windows to the grid, disable snapping, resize and snap the active window to the grid, minimize all windows except the active window, and adjust transparency, toggle the Alt+Tab icon, or make the active window stay on top of other frames.

You can also modify the default grid size and edge behavior (Ignore, Block, Shrink), select a modifier key (Win, Ctrl, Shift, or Alt) and disable any of the four keys, as well as choose between number or function keys for the preset key.

As expected, in our tests, Gridy did not put a strain on the overall performance of the machine, using a low amount of CPU and memory. It did not trigger the operating system to freeze, crash, or prompt error messages.

This software application can be a reliable assistant in snapping windows to an invisible grid. It is especially attractive for advanced users who want to speed up regular activities on their PC.
