HXTT access is a library that can be used to develop small transaction-oriented database engines. Multiple transaction operation levels are supported, which means repeatable reads, uncommitted reads, committed reads, and serialization. These components are written in Java and can be deployed on various platforms using the Java VM.

These components contain the only type 4 JDBC driver for Microsoft Access that supports transactions, remote access, client and server modes, embedded access, in-memory database only, URL database, compressed database, and java.io InputStream database. Additionally, the library is compatible with Microsoft Access versions 1995 to 2016.

A notable feature is that the embedded Pure Java database can be deployed and accessed on any platform with a JVM. Keep in mind that it supports all JVM-supported Unicode, locales and encodings as well as extra modules that are not normally supported, namely Mazovia, Cp620 and Cp895.

For applications built in client and server mode, the library provides an interface database server manager with remote control capabilities. The benefit of this is that a database built this way can run as a standalone application, as a Linux daemon, or as a Windows service. As far as the URL database is concerned, it supports HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SFTP, JDBC and SQL.
