Mathematics and Chemistry

InftyEditor provides a comprehensive text edi tor with LaTeX capabilities, allowing you to immediately define symbols, such as square roots, Greek letters, and fractions. You can easily switch from the plain text mode indicated by the “T” button to the math mode (“M” button) to activate specific grammar support.

The math mode contains character sets, symbols and formulas. The end of each line is marked with a specific symbol, and the LaTeX Source column indicates the code of each graphic representation in the editor. By typing a backslash on the keyboard, you can easily set the definition of a specific function to prompt the LaTeX command menu. All supported functions and special syntax are listed in the drop-down menu.

Use arrow keys to customize functions

For complex symbols such as integrals, sums, or multi-level square roots, you need to enter various other characters, such as superscripts or subscripts. You can use the arrow keys to easily browse and fill in the required symbols. The “Help” window contains detailed instructions on how to define the required elements.

Alternatively, you can select the desired character from the context menu. Right-click on the surface of the editor to grant you access to the list of characters and formulas. In the case of repeatedly adding the same symbol, up to five most recently used characters are displayed respectively.

Chemistry mode and other functions

InftyEditor also allows you to switch to chemistry mode using the “C” button in the toolbar. This function enables the specific syntax of chemical element formulas. In addition, the program also allows you to embed pictures, insert tables or handwriting. The text can be exported as LaTeX files, MathML, HTML, human-readable TeX or Word 2007 documents.
