Papercut is a lightweight, dedicated software solution designed to help computer users check their email inboxes to help them verify received messages without having to resend them.

The application was developed as a simple SMTP server, whose purpose is only to receive email messages (so it cannot be used to send emails), with a GUI (Graphical User Interface) to let you see what you receive without overcomplicating things.

This program does not impose any restrictions on email addresses, which means it will only fetch the mail and allow you to view it on your computer. Papercut is only active at startup, but you can also minimize it to the system tray if you want it to not appear in view but still run in the background.

Whenever the utility detects the arrival of a new email, a balloon notification message pops up on the screen to let you know. Rules can be used to help you forward or relay emails faster.

It does not require much efforts to deploy the application on the target machines as you just need to launch the installer and follow the on-screen instructions provided by the integrated wizard component and the rest of the process will be done automatically.
