Mastodon.social It is a free and open source Weibo network with functions similar to Twitter. However, it is decentralized and community-based, which means it is hosted on a separate server running free software programs.

Use this desktop client to connect to your Mastodon instance
After the quick setup operation, you can start by specifying your instance domain name. Whalebird must be authorized from your Mastodon account via a web browser to continue. If you have multiple instances, you can log in to all instances, thanks to the program’s support for multiple accounts.
After logging in, you can read posts made by other users, double-click the post to view replies, view missed notifications, mark favorite beeps, and view local and public timelines. A separate section is dedicated to finding toot by hashtags and performing regular searches (by keywords).
Post new tips and customization options
You can post a new beep just like on Twitter. However, unlike Twitter, Maston allows posting of up to 500 characters. In addition, you can attach photos, public, unpublished, private or direct messages, and write warnings (such as NSFW) to keep it user-friendly.
As far as general program preferences are concerned, you can change the theme color (from white to dark, great for night activities), set the font size and display name style, disable the sound, and remove the association with the Mastodon account.
In our test, Whalebird runs on the latest Windows version without errors and runs on low system resources. Because of its familiar interface and options, people who are interested in staying connected with the Mastodon instance can easily use it.
