If you often need to type a long email signature or perform a series of formatting operations in a document, you can create a macro that does this with just a single key press. This saves time and reduces the risk of errors that can occur with manual duplication.
Utomason is an application designed to complement and enhance the functionality of Wooting Keyboard. Nonetheless, it can also be used without hardware and provides an efficient way to create complex macros.
I found the interface very easy to navigate as it consists of two tabs. There’s a smaller tab on the left where you can access a collection of macros, while a larger tab on the right allows you to create and access new macros.

Creating a new macro is very simple; I just record the keystroke sequence, configure a key to start the macro, and specify the trigger type that activates this action.
However, please note that this application does capture and analyze keystrokes. While you can temporarily disable this feature, it is recommended not to run this application alongside games as it may be considered cheating depending on how you configure your macros.
Using Wootomation, you can organize macros into specific collections based on their purpose. For example, as a developer, you might have a collection for coding-related macros, another for debugging tasks, and a third for document shortcuts.
Now, let’s say you’re focused on coding and don’t want to be distracted by macros related to debugging or documentation. In this case, you can turn off the collections used for debugging and documentation, ensuring that only encoding-related macros are active.
This helps you focus on your current task without being overwhelmed by unnecessary macros. Later, when you switch to debugging or documentation work, you can easily switch between the corresponding collections to quickly access the macros you need for those tasks.
