The Finder is fine for simple filesystem exploration, but power users often find it lacking. It can get pretty confusing trying to manage multiple windows at the same time, especially if tabs aren’t your thing.

As long as the application is running and you’re in the Finder, you’ll see a floating panel that moves across your desktop and stays on top of other applications. You can also choose to display this panel regardless of which application is currently active.

All open Finder windows are listed here in alphabetical order. You can click any of them to switch to them, or close or minimize them. If the window is currently minimized, its name will be italicized. Also shows folder colors.

A great way to keep your work organized

This app is designed for users who prefer to have multiple windows open instead of tabs, so Finder tabs are not recommended. However, trying to disable them from the app’s preferences doesn’t seem to do anything, and the program also seems to be able to detect folders inside window tabs. They will be listed as another window, but that’s not much of a drawback.

In addition to switching to different windows, closing and minimizing them, you can also move files by dragging and dropping them to a folder in the application’s desktop panel.

You can choose whether close and minimize buttons should appear in the list, as do folder icons. It might help if there were more options than alphabetizing the items in the list.
